How to Request Sponsorship

During the month of November we encourage athletes to apply to us for sponsorship and will consider these applications during December.

Only completed PDF application forms submitted by email, fax or post by 17:00 on 30 November 2010 will be considered.

We'd like to welcome Chris Pilgrim, scrum half for Newcastle Falcons as our latest TCL Sports sponsored athlete.

Newcastle Falcons won the Middlesex sevens plate competition at Twickenham a few weeks ago.

Chris Pilgrim is the Scrum Half (9) for Newcastle Falcons.

Chris player for his county Cheshire from ages U15 - U18s and then at Senior level in the county chanmpionship, he was also in the England under 18s pre season training squad.

Chris attended Loughborough University, while at Loughborough he was offered a sports scholarship for his second and third year (final). This is when he started to want to try and make a career out of rugby. In this time he was part of the Talented Athletes Scholarship Scheme (TASS). He won the BUSA championship twice, and represented England Students for 2 years and also made the England Counties tour to Russia while still at University and played against the Russian national side in Moscow.

After university he was signed by Nottingham who play in the second tier of English rugby (the Championship) and played over 50 games for Nottingham who where a very successful side at the time.

From here his agent let him know about a 3 month Trial offer from Newcastle Falcons, he jumped at the chance and was successful, they offerd him a contract that took him to the end of last season. But during that time they had already offered him a new 2 year deal, which he is currently in the 1st year of.

In terms of his future ambitions as a rugby player, his long term goal is to represent England. His goals for this season are to continue to grow his reputation and become a big part of the newcastle team. He is looking to be selected for England Saxons within the next 2-3 years then hopefully spring board from there to the full England team.

Every summer he has been adding bits and pieces to his game, the summer gone he trained in california for a month working on his general conditioning and his acceleration. Last summer he traveled to New Zealand to do some position specific training with some top coaches.
