First Natural Running Form Clinic a Great Success

Sunday, February 13th, 2011

The first Natural Running Form Clinic held at the Thames Valley Athletics Centre in Windsor on Friday 11th February was hailed as a “great success” by organiser and co-presenter Mike Trees. With bookings closing at 70 and a waiting list on places at the first session there was great interest in the event. The atmosphere at the Running Form Clinic was fantastic, with those attending eager to find out more about Natural Running and how it could aid their running. Presenter Ian Adamson didn’t disappoint them with a wealth of technical knowledge and an abundant supply of personal experiences and anecdotes to bring Natural Running to life.

In addition to an informative presentation on the origins and physiological benefits of Natural Running and how running footwear has evolved, attendees were also invited onto the indoor running track where Mike and seven times Adventure Racing World Champion Ian Adamson assessed the groups running styles and how they could modify their techniques to benefit from the advantages of a more natural style of running.

We received some great feedback from those attending:

‘I am new to running and was worried this would all be a little over my head. The presentation Ian Adamson gave was great, so easy to understand and made total sense. I will defiantly work on running more naturally the drills we were shown were simple to follow and defiantly easy to add to a training programme – a great seminar and for FREE!!!! ’ Sarah Morris

‘I usually just put my trainers on and run without thinking. Ian Adamson did a fantastic job of highlighting the benefits and logic of natural running. I will be sure to think about how I run from now on’   Terrence Zengerink

Newton Running shoes are developed to aid a more natural running style with a range of shoes to suit existing forefoot runners as well as those looking to transition from a heel-midfoot style to a more natural style – see www.newtonrunning.co.uk for details.

New GU Energy Products Launched at TCR 2011

Saturday, February 12th, 2011

TCL Sports are pleased to announce the UK launch of three new product lines from the popular GU Energy family at the TCR 2011 show at Sandown Park this weekend. The new products are GU Electrolyte and Recovery Brew, GU Chomps and GU Roctane.

GU Electrolyte & Recovery Brew

GU Electrolyte Brew is water’s new best friend. The fact is, when you work out you sweat more than just water. So when you drink you gotta have a special Brew with the right amounts of sodium, potassium and carbohydrates to bring your system back into balance. Used consistently, GU Brew will help you perform better and go longer. No gimmicky additives here. GU Brew is as simple as they come – with just a handful of key ingredients, meaning the product is easy on your stomach and will keep you focused on reaching your goals in training and racing.

The premium quality ingredients in GU Recovery Brew help you quickly replenish energy stores and rebuild muscles after an intense workout. You’ll notice a difference when you compare us to the competition. GU Recovery Brew relies on whey protein isolate – not cheaper whey protein concentrate. Arginine and Glutamine promote recovery by mitigating the effects of intense training and supporting a strong immune system. Both simple and complex carbs in optimal balance will re-fuel your competitive fire and get you back to training and racing on schedule. There is also over 100% of daily allowances of vitamins C and E in every serving.

GU Chomps

GU Chomps offer a change of pace from gels and an answer to that moment in your run, ride, ski, swim, hike when you’ve just got to have something to chomp on!

GU Chomps deliver the premium ingredients and performance benefits you’ve come to expect from GU Energy products:

• Amino acids for added focus, rippin’ energy and speedy recovery.
• Vitamin C + E, those mighty antioxidants that combat tissue breakdown.
• Sodium and potassium to restore electrolyte balance.
• Exclusive blend of complex and simple carbohydrates.

GU Roctane

Roctane comes from years of testing scientifically-proven formulas with thousands of elite athletes training for and competing in the most physically-demanding sports in the world. Roctane’s advanced formula amplifies GU’s original Energy Gel recipe and adds new ingredients to boost your chances of success. Now it’s your turn to fill your tank with premium Roctane and compete like a pro.

See the new products at the TCR show or ask your local sports store for GU Energy products. You can find current UK GU retailers on the GU Energy UK website: www.guenergy.co.uk
