Newton Gravity Wins 220 Magazine Best On Test

Friday, October 12th, 2012

The Newton Gravity has won 220 Magazine ‘Best on Test’ scoring 92%. Their verdict was “Invest the time, and cash, and discover good form this winter”.

At 235g the Newtons take second spot on the lightness podium but display sensible robustness for high winter milers. If you’re already a mid or forefoot striker, it instantly feels fast, springy, responsive and just right. The four pronounced mid-foot lugs provide gratifying feedback on every stride and encourage you to run well.

The amount of cushioning is spot on and there’s no sense of foot fatigue on long runs. The inner around the heel is wonderfully plush, but the fairly minimal mesh upper and inner of the rest of the shoe, although very fast drying and draining, would require some warm socks in the depths of winter. Grip is good on the road and the hard pack trails but watch out on any mud.

If you’re not already a mid or forefoot runner, it does require a period of adaptation but the winter is an ideal period for this.

2XU T:2 Wetsuit Wins TRIfinder Ultimate Performer Award

Wednesday, May 25th, 2011

The 2XU T:2 wetsuit was recently crowned ‘Ultimate Performer’ in the ‘TRIfinder Group Test: Wetsuits Under £300′.

The test looked at six criteria – quality of the materials, how it feels to swim in, how to make sense of the different brands sizing charts, what special features do each of the manufacturers offer in the mid-range wetsuits, how easy is it to get the wetsuit off, the look and value for money.

Boasting 2XU’s new Silicone X Skin(SXS) coating alongside world class Yamamoto neoprene, the T:2 is engineered for triathletes demanding superior buoyancy and flexibility, without the expense. Additional proprietary 2XU features include Rollbar, Floating Zip Panel, Transition Panel and 39 Cell Front Buoyancy Panel. Updates for Summer 2011 include graduated Velocity Strakes in the front chest panel to offer heightened body positioning and streamlined tracking through the water like never before. Complete with a two year warranty, the T:2 represents exceptional value.

The T:2 went up against six other wetsuits – BlueSeventy Fusion, Speedo Mens Tri Comp, Orca Sonar, BlueSeventy Reaction, Xterra Vortex 3 and Nineteen Tsunami and was given the ‘Ultimate Performer’ award.

“The winner of our Ultimate Performer Award is the 2XU T:2 suit which out shone the rest, it’s technically advanced, fits like a second skin, has perfect buoyancy, looks the part and will save you time in any swim and at only £220 it’s also phenomenal value.”
